Twin Town

Sorry to disappoint you but this post is not about the iconic Welsh film but it is about the tradition of towns twinning. You can't go wrong with Wikipedia and if you scroll down to Wales because this Blog is called Shark Fishing in Wales and not the United Kingdom despite Theresa May's clarion call for the Union yesterday. I think Welsh towns should be twinned but with each other. North Wales towns should be twinned with South Wales towns to strengthen the bonds between Gog and Hwntw. Instead of being twinned with Timbuktu, Hay on Wye should be twinned with Llangollen. Blaenau Ffestiniog with Merthyr Tydfil, Holyhead with Pembroke Dock, Llandudno with Porthcawl. You see where I'm going with this? You get my driftwood? Why travel the world when we've got Boris Johnson doing that for us? Act global and stay local! Charabancs could go up and down the A470,
Ieuan Air's  propellor could be cranked up again. You might think that the Shark Fisherman of Wales has got his tongue stuck firmly in a surfer's cheek again but for once I am deadly serious. I can see Wales' demise if we do not galvanise as a nation after the success of the Football Team in the European Championships. There on the Terraces and in the seats of French Football Stadiums, Gogs and Hwntws stood side by side singing 'Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau' and now back in Wales they have slipped back into their parochial back yards. There could be a lot of knowledge sharing between North and South. We could really help each other out. Together Stronger, innit lats/brawd?
