The fact is, the poet does not want admiration, he wants to be believed.

China Bad!
China Bad! We know that Russia and Iran are bad because we have been told this by a Government beholden to the Israeli lobby because of Balfour.
Yer ordinary British punter knows who their enemy is, it's the Muslim grooming gangs from Pakistan who are preying/praying on our daughters on the poverty and litter strewn streets of the Kingdom. Why aren't we looking after our daughters better would be the natural response but then patriarchy. It doesn't matter what colour you are, Man must have his power base.
While Charles and Camilla are tucking into their personalised jars of nutella gifted by Giorgia Meloni their subjects are being brainwashed by a British Broadcasting Corporation who want us all to know that Putin bad, China bad, Iran terrible but Israel and Trump are ok if a little flaky. They are able to do this. To propagandise the news. They've been doing it for years but you would have to be comatose on ketamine for the last 18 months not to realise that the flip chart for the morning briefing has a huge star of David at the top.
We are slap bang in the age of populism where even a 'Labour' administration are seizing the means of social media to make their MPs look relevant by recalling them to vote on a Saturday to save British Steel at Scunthorpe. Please don't mention Port Talbot.
Labour? who the Conservatives of the 1960's would have called Maoist. Harold Wilson in his blue Mao jacket looking a lot like Mike Yarwood. Labour who are waiting on Donald Trump's every utterance like rail passengers waiting for a nationalised service. After all if you can 'nationalise' British Steel.....
My dear sweet darling Pops, my dear old Dad was moved to Scunthorpe by his employers at the start of the Second World War. He was old for a Dad when I was born and I am ancient now writing this. A posting to Scunthorpe in those days was tantamount to a Stalin posting to Siberia but my father went because that's what you did in those days, you did what your employer said because they owned you.
He remembered the steelworkers coming in to the bank on a Friday and handing coins over the counter. That was their pay. He remembered that the family he was lodging with were originally from South Wales, they had come up from Ebbw Vale and had originally moved across to there from rural Carmarthenshire. They were Welsh Speakers and the language of the house was Cymraeg, my father a bank clerk with his North Walian speaking to his landlord at the 'Bwrdd Brecwast' with his South Walian Cymraeg. A man who would cycle to work with his muffler around his neck to feed the fire at the Scunthorpe Steelworks.
These anecdotes are all very well but what has this got to do with China bad? Well by all accounts, the Second World War was a just war fought against the forces of Facism. Nobody knew that in the early months of the war in 1939/1940. It was Britain going to war again, twenty years after the last killing of ordinary 'working' men on the fields of France.
Whichever way you cut it, Sir Keir Starmer's fetishisation of work has gone out of fashion despite he and Liz Kendall running around like headless chickens trying to persuade the populace that 'If you can work, you should'. Too many have struggled over the last century and a half in grim working conditions to then be packed off to war to fight for a country ruled by an unelected monarch and his missus eating personalised jars of nutella and riding around Italy in shipped over Bentleys. Mussolini would have been proud of the pair of them.
If the United Kingdom of Great Britain and its bastard child of the United States of America keep up with the sabre rattling and the tub thumping then after the Israeli Genocide of Palestine is over, pointed fingers will be aimed at the West from those we have demonised for so long, Russia, Iran and China who are all bad don't forget.
Those fingers will be pointed at us because we have been enablers of the Israeli Genocide of Palestine with our arms manufacturing and logistical support and our fawning and feet kissing of Netanyahu and for that we deserve to burn in the bowels of the Scunthorpe Steel Works forever and a day.
