Post Brexit, Post Covid Blues

Post Brexit, Post Covid Blues

I’ve got the Post Brexit, Post Covid Blues

I’m a Remainer who believed it wasn’t just the flu

He’ll try and rhyme every line

I know his work now, let him rip, he’ll be fine.

Searching for some kind of meaning outside the drive by shopping.

It’s very challenging because retail is king

even when there’s a crisis in the cost of living.

Any alternative is poo-pooed out of sight

because we are addicted to comfort, we’ve lost the fight

to challenge the monarchy and aristocracy.

They’re running rings round us,

We the people are a spectator sport.

Prince Andrew, the Queen’s favourite, whispered into Charles’s ear

“Look Bro! You know you are marmite, at least I am hated because I don’t sweat,

get em to swear allegiance, come on, they’re shopping at Pret”

We’ll all go back to our mundane lives

when we really want to go throwing a bunch of fives

at the liars and control freaks.

Getting pissed to Rule Britannia

without realising the greatest irony that

WE ARE THE SLAVES
