On the futility of war and the sickness of light entertainment!
An adaptation of
The "Ode of Remembrance" is an ode taken from Laurence Binyon's poem "For the Fallen", which was first published in The Times in September 1914.
 
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Oh turn the telly on! It will be on soon!
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
Who will be voted off tonight!
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
The Opium of the Masses
They fell with their faces to the foe.
Stop making me feel guilty! It's not my fault! 
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Look give me a break,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. 
Sssh! Simon Cowell is talking!
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Until X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing are on.....
 and then we’ll forget you for a bit!
